Bandai Namco Filmworks has released an English-dubbed trailer for Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, the second film in the Hathaway anime project. The trailer offers a preview of the localized version ahead of its upcoming theatrical runs.
The film is scheduled to screen in Japanese theaters this winter. For U.S. audiences, a May 15 release date has been set, with screenings available in both Japanese with English subtitles and with an English dub. The narrative follows Hathaway as he grapples with his mission for MAFTY, his feelings for Gigi, and the actions of Kenneth, setting the stage for intense drama and combat.
Key staff and cast members return from the first film, with additions to the art and visual effects teams. The soundtrack features SZA's 2022 song "Snooze" as the opening theme and SennaRin performing the insert song "ENDROLL." The film's working title was previously Kidō Senshi Gundam Senkō no Hathaway: San of Bright.
The Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway project is designed as a trilogy. The first film, released in June 2021, performed strongly at the Japanese box office, eventually surpassing 2 billion yen and becoming the first Gundam film to do so since 1988's Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack. It was later made available exclusively on Netflix in the U.S.
