Konami has unveiled a gameplay trailer for its upcoming title, Castlevania: Belmont's Curse. The trailer, which includes English commentary, showcases the game's 15th-century Parisian setting and introduces a new Belmont heir wielding the Vampire Killer whip.
Evil Empire, with advisory support from Motion Twin, is developing the game. This marks the first entirely new Castlevania installment since Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 arrived in 2014. Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam sometime this year.
The game's narrative places players in 15th-century Paris, where a new Belmont descendant must battle monstrous creatures and a mystical castle to save the city. Players will utilize various weapons and spells, with an emphasis on exploration within the sinister castle environment.
This release follows the Castlevania Dominus Collection, which launched in August 2024 and included three Nintendo DS titles, the arcade game Haunted Castle, and a new version titled Haunted Castle Revisited. The franchise also continues with the animated series Castlevania: Nocturne, which premiered in September 2023 and recently debuted its second season in January 2025.
