MangaGamer has released the first season of Rose Guns Days, the visual novel series from 07th Expansion, on its platform and Steam. This new iteration includes updated graphics and offers language support for Japanese, English, and Chinese. The game is scheduled to be distributed in four chapters across both platforms.
The story is set in an alternate history following World War II, where Japan faces occupation by Sino-American allies after a natural disaster. The narrative centers on aspiring reporter Julie Hayashibara's quest to interview the influential Jeanne Amakawa and uncover the realities of post-war Japan. Ryukishi07 wrote the story, with art provided by Jirō Suzuki, Sōichirō, and Yaeko Ninagawa.
The original Rose Guns Days visual novel series began its run in August 2012, with subsequent entries released through December 2013. MangaGamer had previously made the series available with an English translation patch in 2014 and 2015. The franchise has also inspired several manga adaptations, with Yen Press publishing English versions of multiple seasons.
