A new anime adaptation based on UQ Holder!, the sequel to Ken Akamatsu's beloved Negima! Magister Negi Magi, has been announced. The series, which shifts focus to Negi's grandson Touta Konoe, explores a future where magic is commonplace and society has evolved significantly from the original series' setting.
UQ Holder! follows Touta, a seemingly ordinary boy living in a world where magic is integrated into daily life. His life changes when he discovers his own latent magical abilities and is drawn into the world of the UQ Holder, an organization dedicated to protecting the world from supernatural threats. The original Negima! anime, produced by Xebec, ran for 26 episodes in 2005 and adapted Akamatsu's manga about a young wizard teaching at an all-girls school.
This new project offers a chance for fans to delve deeper into the Negima! universe, exploring its future and the legacy of its characters. Further details regarding the animation studio and release window are expected soon.
