The new CG anime adaptation of Fist of the North Star, titled Hokuto no Ken -Fist of the North Star-, will feature a remix of the original series' iconic opening theme song, "Ai o Torimodose!!", as its ending. Toshl, known for his work with X Japan, is performing the updated track. The announcement comes as the anime celebrates the manga's 40th anniversary.
Premiering on April 9th, the anime has already released its first two episodes on Tokyo MX and BS11, with the next two slated for April 17th. Amazon Prime Video is handling worldwide streaming for the series. The production, helmed by TMS Entertainment, aims for a CG style that remains faithful to Tetsuo Hara's original manga.
The voice cast includes Shunsuke Takeuchi as Kenshiro, Taiten Kusunoki as Raoh, and Saori Hayami as Yuria. Hiroshi Maeda is directing, with Yūki Hayashi composing the music. While Toshl handles the ending theme, the opening song, "Hallelujah," is performed by Alexandros.
The original Fist of the North Star manga ran from 1983 to 1988, spawning a highly successful anime series and numerous other adaptations. This new CG rendition seeks to capture the spirit of the post-apocalyptic martial arts epic.
