Eiga Doraemon: Shin Nobita no Kaitei Kiganjō (Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil) continues its reign at the top of the Japanese box office, holding the #1 spot for its sixth consecutive weekend. The film brought in approximately $1.74 million USD from Friday to Sunday, pushing its total earnings past $23.4 million USD.

This latest installment, a remake of the 1983 classic, is directed by Tetsuo Yajima and scripted by Isao Murayama. It marks the 45th 2D animated feature in the long-running franchise.

Meanwhile, the live-action adaptation of The Ogre's Bride (Oni no Hanayome) light novel series slipped to #4 in its second weekend, earning over $600,000 USD. The film, starring Ren Nagase as Reiya Kiryūin and Ai Yoshikawa as Yuzu Shinonome, is also set to inspire an upcoming television anime premiering in July.

Other notable films in the Japanese box office rankings include Shingo Yamashita's Cosmic Princess Kaguya! (Chō Kaguya-hime!), which rose to #5 after an extended theatrical run, and the sequel film Entotsu-chō no Poupelle Yakusoku no Tokeidai, which dropped to #7. The second live-action Golden Kamuy film, Abashiri Kangoku Shūgeki-hen, also saw a decrease, falling to #8 in its fourth weekend.
