The upcoming television anime adaptation of Ayaka Katayama's dystopian sci-fi series Kin to Tetsu (Fungus and Iron) has confirmed its core production team. Keitarou Motonaga, known for his work on The Kingdoms of Ruin, will serve as director for the project, which is currently in development at Yokohama Animation Lab. Katayama launched the manga in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine in March 2021, and the story is scheduled to wrap up in the magazine's October issue on September 9. While the anime adaptation is now moving forward, the manga has already established a presence in the English-speaking market through Kodansha USA, which has been handling the digital release since 2022.
