Gohoubi is set to debut a new manga series titled Kakuriki in the upcoming 20th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine, slated for release on April 13. The story centers on Daigo Senzen, a once elite sumo wrestler who awakens from a three-year coma. Despite his 32-year-old body, he resolves to continue his quest for the highest rank, Yokozuna, though his physical condition presents an unknown challenge.
This new work follows Gohoubi's previous collaboration with Shin Kibayashi, Blue Fight: Aoki Wakamono-tachi no Breaking Down. That series began in October 2024 in Weekly Young Magazine before moving to YanMaga Web, where it concluded in June 2025. The original story for Blue Fight was penned by Shin Kibayashi under the pseudonym Tadashi Agi, with Gohoubi providing the artwork. The live-action film adaptation of Blue Fight, directed by Takashi Miike, premiered in January 2025.
