Solar, the leader and main vocalist of the popular K-pop group Mamamoo, has contributed an original song titled “My Wish” to the live-action film Everyday We Are. The track is a ballad focusing on themes of longing and unrequhed love, showcasing Solar's distinct vocal talents.
Everyday We Are itself is a high-school romance adapted from a webtoon serialized on Kakao Page. The film, which captures the nuances of first love, centers on the complicated relationship between two childhood friends on the cusp of adulthood. The story follows Yeoul Han, played by the late Sae-ron Kim, whose quiet life is disrupted when her childhood friend Ho-soo Oh, portrayed by Chae-min Lee, confesses his feelings before middle school graduation.
Despite an initial separation as they attend different high schools, fate intervenes and reunites them on their first day of high school, only for them to discover they have unknowingly transferred to the same campus. The film was shot in 2021 and experienced production delays. It eventually premiered in Korea on March 4, following a planned seven-episode live-action series based on the same webtoon.
While an English version of the webtoon is not currently available, Solar's new song "My Wish" is accessible on major music platforms.
